Chester Zoo Chester Zoo Special Event with Curator of Mammals, Tim Rowlands

As for Chester and the EAZA ape campaign, is it possible for anybody to raise money and give it to the zoo for the campaign, or is it raised by donations at the zoo and events the zoo organises strictly?
Organisations pledge to raise a certain amount towards the campaign, then hold events or take donations to achieve that goal. As an individual you can raise money yourself and give it to the zoo for them to give to EAZA, or you can donate directly to the campaign.

There is lots of information on the EAZA mini-site: EAZA Ape Campaign

I can't speak for Chester of course, but last year I raised some money for the EAZA carnivore campaign which I paid directly to EAZA via paypal; it could also have been paid through my zoo at the time - in other words, it's pretty flexible I would think.

Edit - wot SMR said!

Are you able to divulge any info or is it strictly hush hush?? I'd completely understand if Tim did ask you to keep things private
Alot of what was said was off the record so I for one will be saying nothing just in case I post something that I shouldn`t be saying at the moment. If you are that keen to find out what sort of info you find out on them you will have to attend one of them!
