As stated by zoogiraffe if the zoo itself does not officially announce anything yet other sites' info must be deemed speculative at best (and certainly not beyond a reasonable doubt).

So is there any unfounded speculation about who lovely Upali's replacement will be?

last I heard it wasn't decided which Bull would replace Upali when he leaves at some point in the future!
They were all out today.

I went on Thurs we got there at 10 and Upali was out on his own when we went past later everyone was out....

Since the two calves were born, he has been going out in the paddock with the females. I think he was let out at some point this time last year as he was still separate when I went in February 2011 but with the herd in June 2011.
I thought the death of Sheba was the start of Upali being out a lot.

If your suggesting that Sheba didn't get on with Upali, then I don't think that is the case. I seem to recall that Sheba welcomed Upali into the herd from a young age.

Ever thought that the zoo kept Upali away from Sheba because of her age,and yes she did very much look after Upali when he first arrivd,but then she did that with every new arrival at the zoo.
