Chiang Mai Zoo Chiang Mai Zoo news thread

Hi,
I'm planing on a trip to Thailand in July and would like to ask anyone, if the following species are being kept in zoo..Spotted Linsang,
Large-spotted Civet and Fea's Muntjac ?
Thanks in advance,
Jakub

I visited Chiang Mai Zoo on August 5th with @twilighter and I just uploaded 220 photos into the ZooChat gallery. I have a question regarding a series of enclosures that are just past the Koalas and 'Zoo Kids Zone', and before one reaches a huge Asian hoofstock paddock.

Here's a photo of a large enclosure on the left that held ponies but looks as if it was designed for carnivores. The one on the right is similar, and there is a substantial building and then a series of ramps and additional exhibits that are all blocked off to the public. Is this an old development or some kind of new big cat complex? Does anyone know?

@Flat headed cat, Can You elaborate on which coloured parts in the first picture denote which species are to be exhibited in the flagged different colour areas?

Further, I also see the site for the new China - 2027 redevelopment has 4 other major areas marked out on the map. Do you have any more information what themes or zoogeographic areas for the Chiang Mai Zoo these define?

I will say this is really an especially fascinating time to be living in and experiencing the development of Thailand's zoos! With major developments happening at Khao Kheow ORZ and the new Dusit Zoo opening next year in the new site on the outskirts of Bangkok!!!!!

This is just a picture of a section of the giant panda, not the entire exhibit. In the first picture.
Yellow is the enclosure,
Green is the outdoor exhibition,
Brown is the indoor exhibition,
Red is the clinic,
Blue is the laboratory, purple is the research center,
Pink is the power generation and water supply system,
Gray is the reception hall and parking lot.
