As long as I've been on zoochat, I've followed the Chicago zoo threads pretty closely (and Milwaukee) and it's noticeable there is a pretty solid gaggle of regulars in these threads, especially for Brookfield and Milwaukee. I know I've had a couple close calls with zoochatters before, including a "we probably walked past each other" situation. While in the UK, I had the pleasure to meet two zoochatters who were helpful and extremely kind to me. It added immensely to my travel experience and it's just such fun to share the visit with someone who is having as much fun as you are.
I think there's the potential to do a great meetup of some kind in Chicago, hopefully with multiple zoochatters (legal adults only please) at either Lincoln Park or Brookfield. The opening of Tropical Forests next year could be a fantastic time to get a bunch of us together for Brookfield, but I'm at Lincoln Park often and can get there easily on public transportation so that's always an option. I'm available three days a week and with two weeks notice could be available for a day that works for everyone, so I am willing to be flexible.
