Did you manage to see the orcas? Will share some thoughts later
We did and we watched the orca show as well, saw seven orcas in total. One huge male, two juveniles and not sure about the gender of the rest. They all live in a massive tank. I think the tank is the new record of the biggest aquarium tank but I am not sure. It is just a boring looking bare bottom tank with three huge windows. The tank is like the biggest aquarium tank you can imagine. The orcas looked very clean no scratch mark or what so ever. The head trainer is from France they didn’t get into the water.Did you manage to see the orcas?
That would make sense; they apparently have twelve whales, but only nine have been confirmed at the new facility thus far.We did and we watched the orca show as well, saw seven orcas in total. I got confused with the words calves and juveniles. We saw one calf and 2 smaller individuals there. it was hard to tell how many whales they have there exactly since they don't put the whale into the main tank all togetherThat would make sense; they apparently have twelve whales, but only nine have been confirmed at the new facility thus far.
Did you manage to see any of the calves?
In what way is this place the "largest aquarium"? There are multiple ways to interpret that. The largest in area? Square footage? Water volume? Are we talking the largest aquarium as in single tank? Or the largest aquarium as in an entire facility?
That would make sense, there are currently three younger whales there (all born at the Chimelong breeding base);I got confused with the words calves and juveniles. Not surprised. The Tiger shark looked like it was not going to survive much longer when I visited the placeThe tiger shark isn't there anymore, at least it's not on display in the main shark tank.
A fellow zoo enthusiast I know photographed the tiger shark today, so it's still round at least for now.The tiger shark isn't there anymore, at least it's not on display in the main shark tank.
