Genet passed away at Twycross Zoo on 15th August 2023, aged 28.

Twycross Zoo speaks of 'great sadness' at death of chimp - BBC News

She was a chocolate coloured chimp and hence, like all such individuals in the UK, descended from the wild caught female, Coco. Like Coco, Jambo and the late Mongo, she exhibited some alopecia, (although not complete hair loss, like the latter two). As a P. t. hybrid, I believe Genet was contracepted and hence had no offspring herself.

Genet's parents, Jambo and Charlotte, had the same mother, Coco, but different fathers, (Bobby and Oscar, respectively), and hence were maternal half siblings. However, Charlotte was also Jambo's paternal aunt, being a full sibling to Bobby. I think that makes Genet both Jambo's daughter and his first cousin, and both daughter and great niece to Charlotte, (please correct me if I'm wrong!)

Does anyone have the full history of Chester’s chimps? Like every chimp that has been and gone as they have such a wide variety of chimps and I’m invested and I keep seeing one off mentions of chimps who were there with no idea what happened to them or where (if alive) they are now.
Any help would be really appreciated as chester has had chimps for so long!

I visited Artis last year and I have to say that out of all the exhibits in the zoo, the chimpanzee one desperately needs repair. It would be better suited for smaller monkeys such as capuchins or just tear it down and build a totally new chimp enclosure elsewhere in the zoo. I could definitely see the troop moving to another collection in the near future.

I'd love to hear from anyone who knows a little for on the matter than I do. Thanks.

could it be possible for monkey world in the uk to take them in? Or are there more local alternatives were they could be replaced

Rotterdam Zoo doesn't have chimps currently so they could go there to expand their collection. Monkey world is probably a good option considering the experience they have with chimpanzees.

Artis has now been in talks with a zoo interested in the chimpanzee group for more than a year. Artis animal caretakers visited the zoo in late 2022 and concrete talks on wishes and requirements regarding the enclosure, animal care and Artis' continued involvement are currently underway.

A rumour spread by some regular Artis visitors is that this may be a zoo in India. Artis itself does not want to say anything about this yet.
 
Too many zoos stop keeping chimps. :( I know only Krefeld Zoo which will house for a new group when the construktions will finish.

In the EAZA TAG Reports 2022, the Great Ape TAG also wrote something about this:

"For the Chimpanzee EEP, several holders would like to eventually stop with the species, often because it is not feasible to upgrade their existing facilities. At the same time, the total population size is decreasing with hundreds of individuals in the coming 20 years because the population is aging and there is no breeding with hybrid chimpanzees. The challenge instead will be to merge remnant groups, which requires more flexible enclosures"
