Farmer jailed after catching an 'alien'

A Chinese farmer who posted photos online of an “alien” he claimed to have electrocuted and put in his freezer has been jailed for lying.

Photos from Chinese social networking site Weibo show the farmer, known only as Mr Li, with the extraterrestrial he said he caught in a rabbit trap after a UFO flew over his home in Shandong province.

Police arrested the man and said he had "disturbed the public order".

After five days in prison, Mr Li admitted he had made the alien out of rubber, chicken wire and glue.
