Chinese Monal (Lophophorus lhuysii) as food in China

Although already a Vulnerable species (IUCN), the Chinese Monal (Lophophorus lhuysii) is still hunted and eaten as a food source in China. Most of the Chinese people never realized it's a conserved species in the world.

In the Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Liangshan, a person is plucking a Chinese Monal for cooking. The photographer just wondered "Which breed of chicken is it ?"

@AdolfZhang, it is a sad reminder that mostly at home we still have a lot to answer for where wildlife, habitats and nature conservation are at stake, both in my home country Netherlands as in P.R. China. It remains puzzling why and how people do not know the laws and that authorities seem unable / incapable of any proper law enforcement!

Is there any improvement possible on the horizon with the said pheasant?
