Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden Cincinnati Zoo News 2019

So, word on the street (aka Instagram) is, APPARENTLY, the elephant yards have been expanded! :D:D

Based on what I saw it looks like they took the viewing by the Go Green Garden and expanded it to the building. Other than that, I wouldn't even refer to it as an expansion because for the rest of the outer area they filled in the slopes and replaced the brick wall with bars.

Oh, well that's disappointing. At least we have Elephant Trek coming in 2025!

According to the zoo's new Instagram story, it seems that they have honeyeaters in their care, as it was a video of a keeper feeding a freshly born honeyeater chick (check it out, its really cute and endearing, at least to me).

The zoo has 1.1.2 off exhibit

I feel that the Gorilla Foundation's hidden reason is that "How can it be a Gorilla Foundation without a gorilla?".

Under a federal judge's ruling, Ndume needs to be returned to the zoo no later than June 30.

Judge Rules Gorilla Ndume Must Return To Cincinnati By June 30
This ruling totally disqualifies the Gorilla Foundation.

Aside and rather depressing: It serves no purpose other than having done research on the perceived(understanding) of sign language by a humanized gorilla. This cannot be scientifically and independly proven nor replicated by primate behavor researchers full stop. One could thus question the validity of her research.

Point 2: It does not have an in situ conservation wing.

After months of debate with the Gorilla Foundation Ndume has returned to the Cincinnati Zoo

Gorilla Returns to Cincinnati Zoo

This is a historic moment in history: PETA giving their full support to a gorilla being sent to a zoo (albeit as opposed to being kept in solitary confinement at the Gorilla Foundation) agreeing it is in Ndume’s best interest.
