I could swear that someone mentioned babirusas being out of the plans a few months ago.
A zoo volunteer told me the area is not quite finished yet - the opening was pushed back and no set date.
On behalf of my respective population thread, this will be an interesting bit of information going forward.Just got word from a local who spoke to a keeper that a male Babirusa will go on exhibit with the small-clawed otters in Elephant Trek most likely in July.
I don't know why I didn't consider this an option since Jacksonville has the same mix.
After looking at your population thread, it appears the male will come from the Bronx ZooOn behalf of my respective population thread, this will be an interesting bit of information going forward.
Additionally, if there is enough land area for this new otter exhibit*; I could see why the zoo would make this unexpected decision. (*please inquire)
the zoo posted some photos and videos on their website of the new area and the otter exhibit does look pretty bigOn behalf of my respective population thread, this will be an interesting bit of information going forward.

what will happen to wolf woods if mexi wolf are moving across from bear
@Birdman02, I was moreso asking about the size percentage of the exhibit (as in square feet), but it’s good to know that babirusas are still part of this final phase.

Aren’t the lights only on for early member viewing? If not, what times are the lights on?From experience 99% of the time when the Aardwolf is active is when the lights are on first thing in the morning.
All of these are easy to see, especially like I said when the lights are on in Night Hunters.
It used to be but over the last few years they're usually on until 11am. Heck, occasionally for whatever reason, some exhibits are on the light cycle all day.Aren’t the lights only on for early member viewing? If not, what times are the lights on?
