Ever since 1999, the zoo has kept, rehabilitated, and helped release multiple manatees into the wild. Here is where their two manatees reside... A 70 X 20 120,000 gallon tank located in the wonderful Manatee Springs.

Here are some facts about the zoo's current manatees.
Woodstock
-Came to the zoo on January 11, 2013 from the Columbus Zoo
-She was an orphaned calf rescued in 2011
-She is estimated to be 3 years-old
-She is 9 ft long and over 940 pounds
-She is set to be released back into the wild in November of this year
-The tank in Columbus is saltwater while in Cincinnati it is filled with freshwater. So it took her awhile to get used to the buoyancy difference.

Betsy
-She arrived in Cincinnati in November of 2010 from Homosassa Springs.
-She is not a rescue animal however, her her mother was rescued and gave birth to Betsy in 1990.
-She is 12.5 long and weights nearly 2,050 pounds
-There is no set date for her to be released
-Betsy is by far the largest manatee the Cincinnati Zoo has ever housed!
