I can't help but enjoy it. More than any other exhibit, Australian Adventure is a relic of its time and I personally find many of those elements charming. Whatever your opinion, I'd be surprised if anything as "distinct" as the Yagga Tree is ever designed and constructed at the CMZ again. That's not saying it's effective or a good use of space. If anything, it's akin to the Tree of Life and Disney's Animal Kingdom - trying to be an exhibit and an "icon." But I like the idea of a spot almost exclusively for kids to explore and enjoy. And I can't see the Yagga Tree and its more bizarre elements - the animatronic crocodile, the slide, etc. - surviving past the next major overhaul of the area (whenever that is.)

I feel like if they overhaul the Australia area the tree is toast. Although the animatronic does look a bit rough, it's still a unique scene that even is an icon of the Submerged Animatronic group. If the tree remains I definitely see the croc being ripped out

What about the crocodile? It's nothing special....like at all. It's literally just in a room in a playground with a waterfall and some noise.

What specifically about the rhinos? They have Eastern Black Rhinos, I only saw one but there might be more. And I skipped the tigers, as I missed the path to get into the passage and I had no time to turn back.
 
The zoo's tandem zip line - Eagle Zip Adventure - is officially open.

At this point, I don't have a strong reaction either way. It's a good use of the topography and an extra revenue source with big ambitions on the horizon.

I just got word that the Indian Crested porcupines were replaced with Cape porcupines. Can anyone confirm whether or not this is true?

Well given that the animals in your video look like Cape Porcupines and not Indian Crested , their website states them as not currently at the zoo, and that my visit in late June beared no show, sign, or mention of Indian Crested (or any porcupines, oddly) I'm pretty sure it is true. Though I do not know when you visited the zoo and recorded your video so I'm nott sure if my visit was when they were transitioning the habitat or whatnot.

They were signed Indian Crested in July.
 
Does anyone remember if Cleveland ever had Savannah Monitors in the RainForest? I know they aren't there now but I had a coworker today who said they remember there being monitors

I would 100% not be surprised if this happened. Indian Crested porcupines are a phase out species by the AZA and there are very few of them left. The zoo I volunteer at used to keep an Indian Crested Porcupine but when it died they were unable to source another due to how rare they are in the US right now- Cleveland is probably in a similar situation. It's unfortunate since Indians are my favorite porcupine species, and since Cape or African Crested Porcupines don't really fit the Rainforest theme. Hopefully they'll look into Visayan Warty Pigs or something else tropical for that exhibit.

The exhibit seems a bit small for Visayan warty pigs, maybe they could put mouse deer instead given the nocturnal environment?

A possibility, although if anything it's too big for Mouse deer and you'd never be able to spot them. It's been about five years since I've been to Cleveland, so I don't 100% remember the exhibit, but I seem to remember it being very spacious.

I believe it used to hold a mouse deer about a decade ago, but I'll second it is far too small for the pigs. You might even argue it's small for the porcupines, but ironically its one of the largest I've ever seen.

These were the ones kept under the Rainstorm, correct?
