Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Cleveland Metroparks Zoo News 2022

Just left the zoo. Here's what I saw:
• Egyptian Goose now in old Colobus Monkey indoor exhibit
• Only one Bison was out
• Sloth Bears outside
• Australia was closed for Trunk or Treat
• Burmese Python off exhibit
• Red Panda now in former Persian Leopard exhibit
• Learned from guest service that Scruffy the Sun Bear will have her own retirement area in Bear Hollow and is being held off exhibit until construction ends.

Also, the construction walls around Bear Hollow have been reduced and the second path around the area is now open again.

So does this mean both sun bears and koalas are off exhibit at the moment?

Are the red pandas in the old leopard habitat the ones from PCA?

I forgot to mention this earlier, but the Tucker Court conversion in Australia seems to be done. There was a new sign up and people were looking at whatever was inside. I wasn't able to check it out since I wasn't part of Trunk or Treat, I just saw that from the drive in.

Do any of you know about what happened to the Persian Onagers if they're not on exhibit? I'll be heading to the Cleveland Zoo for the first time on the 5th, and those are one of the species I've been excited to see the most considering their rarity, and I saw them listed on the offical website, but I didn't see them on a recent species list that was posted on Hallowe'en.

It is likely they returned to The Wilds. That is where they came from.

The zoo no longer has Onagers, correct. They now have Bison in that yard. Enjoy CMZ. It's a beautiful zoo. Since it's your first time I'd recommend not missing: Elephant Crossing, Tiger Passage, The Rainforest, and Asian Highlands

Agree. I'd add Australian Adventure to that list, too. Not all of it will be open this time of year or viewable, but it's definitely on my list of highlights. Love it.

Friend was at CMZ today, only thing he noticed out of the ordinary was the Burmese Python was still off exhibit. Is Cinnamon OK?
