I imagine Keyambe and the unnamed baby will be kept separate for a while.
 
The zoo stated on their Facebook story that Bear Hollow will have a ribbon cutting "in the next month or so" and that the gender of the baby Gorilla will be be revealed soon
 
Went to the zoo yesterday.
1. from what I can see Mongoose Lemurs and Crowned Lemurs are the only lemurs left.
2. Savanah habitats have had species changed. The first one had unsigned Bonteboks. The Second had Zebras, Storks, and a single ostrich, (the others were still in the first one.) And the Giraffe exhibit had a lone Bontebok with the normal Giraffe exhibit species.
3. The Research hut exhibit still waiting new inhabitants. It will most likely be a new arrival a sign by the exhibit states.

I heard back in April that PCA will be temporarily home to primates currently in The Rainforest when Primate Forest happens. I wonder if they're moving out species like the Ring Tailed Lemur to make room, since PF will likely break ground next year

The exhibits of the lemurs that moved out are currently signed under the species that didn't move out. Crowned Lemur had three I believe and Mongoose Lemur had two.

Ah, ok. Then that lines up with the PCA giving multiple exhibits to one species. I remember a few years ago when every species was crammed into one block per.
 
Just saw the news that Willy passed. It was so good seeing him on 2 occasions and knowing that I got to see the tallest African bull in a zoo in American history. He was 11 ft tall if I remember. I hope that the Cleveland Museum of Natural History can exhibit his skeleton if it was saved after his passing.
 
To a point made more than a few times on these threads, I hope that they continue to let us know when an animal passes, not only when there are births.
 
Just left the zoo. Here's what's new-
- Front facade of PC&A under refurbishment, old sign removed and destroyed (saw it being dismantled)
- Outdoor PC&A boardwalk closed
- Sloth Bears have moved out of the Polar Bear Grotto
- Bear Hollow opening roster:
  • Andean Bear- Pacha
  • An un-named female Andean Bear is on the way and she will debut after Bear Hollow opens
  • •Sloth Bear- Balwat and Shiva (Same as old exhibit)
- RainForest waterfall completely turned off
- Renovations to existing RainForest could begin as early as Spring 2024. No word on when Gorilla and Orangutan exhibits begin work
