Decided to compile all the projects listed in the Zoo's 150 Plan (2011-2032) into one place for ease of access.

Bear Hollow
Status: Under construction, opening 2023
Location: Wilderness Trek
Expanded and enhanced habitats for Sloth and Andean Bears. Removing the old grotto type exhibits for four connected yards and elevated viewing platforms for guests. Sun Bear will remain in Asian Highland.

Primate Forest
Status:
Announced, possibly groundbreaking 2023
Location: The RainForest
Expansion of The RainForest exhibit in three phases:
  1. Replacement of the RainForest Dome [COMPLETE 2021]
  2. New exhibits for Orangutan and Gorilla
  3. Refurbishment of existing RainForest building
Elephant Night Yard
Status:
Unknown
Location: African Elephant Crossing
Expanded indoor shelter/cover for the night yard at Elephant Crossing, behind the building.

Cheetah Exhibit
Status:
Unknown
Location: Primate Cat and Aquatics
Expansion for the Cheetah habitat. Originally Cheetahs were supposed to move off the hill when Asian Highland opened so who knows?

Tram Stop Relocation
Status:
Unknown
Location: PCA Deckwalk
Relocation of the PCA tram stop from near the Lions/Elephants (Making way for possible lion expansion?)

Food/Beverage Plaza
Location:
Waterfowl Lake
Status: Unknown

Updates for Feb/March 2023 (Bold is what's changed):

Bear Hollow

Status: Under construction, opening 2023 (Zoo staff say May)
Location: Wilderness Trek
Expanded and enhanced habitats for Sloth and Andean Bears. Removing the old grotto type exhibits for four connected yards and elevated viewing platforms for guests. Sun Bear was sent to Honolulu Zoo.

Food/Beverage Plaza
Location:
African Savanna
Status: Under construction
Renovation of the zoo's existing food plaza and Roaring Lion Café to be able to hold larger crowds when Crocodile Café in The RainForest is unavailable for Primate Forest construction.

Changes to Reinberger Homestead and Yagga Tree
Location:
Australian Adventure
Status: Unknown
Was told by a zoo employee that both the Reinberger Homestead and The Yagga Tree would be re-opening with "A couple changes" after being closed for the Summer 2022 season. Animatronics seem to have been removed from both locations (Koala and Kookaburra in Homestead, Wooly Bill in Yagga tree).
