Closed Zoos Due To Weather?

One more big blast of snow from the South to the Midlands then turning to rain this should all be through by midday tomorrow if you believe the weather apps.

Eeesh, that doesn’t sound good! Chester looks set to be more stable, temperatures currently on the (slow) rise as well.
Just over the border from Chester here in Wales we had more snow overnight, it looks about twice as deep as it was yesterday. I don't know how they fared at the hospital (Wrecsam) until I go in on Monday morning. :)

Heavy snowfall over night but it's starting to melt now the next problem will be flooding as heavy rain now forecast for the next few days.

Chester zoo had remedial work done about 6 years ago because their canals (boat ride) were in danger of flooding due to root infestation.
I'm told that root canal work can be very painful ;)
Coastal South Devon is warmer today and there has been quite a bit of rain. Our snow is virtually all gone now, so I expect everything will be back to normal tomorrow.

It's snowing again in the Midlands but on the flooding issue I'm sure a couple of years ago their were closures from a few zoos because of flood damage it's on here somewhere I think..

I notice on FB this morning that Monkey World, CWP and Dudley Zoo are already closed due to the weather today.

And this from Twycross:

"VISITOR ANNOUNCEMENT
We are currently assessing whether we can open the zoo today after last nights snow.

Please keep an eye on our social media channels for updates.
Thanks Team TZ"

Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park is closed.
