Coffs Harbour Zoo closes

Coffs Harbour Zoo

Can I assume that rergardless of the zoo being part of ARAZPA or not , that ARAZPA will know about the availability of the status of animals to be disposed of , and can inform potential zoos of the availability ?
I am sure that any/all of NZs 4 main zoos could accept cappuchins , even if they went to Orana first while the enclosure in their new home is being built/expanded ( Orana is basically a holding zoo for animals being sent to/fro , apart from what they manage to breed themselves in the meantime )

I believe that Coffs Harbour Zoo was a member of ARAZPA, and so I'm sure that the dispersal of the animals will be handled according to their normal procedures, but as far as I know, they don't have capuchins (did you mean tamarins, Nigel?). The only primate species they have are cotton-top tamarins.

The species coordinator will recommend suitable institutions for the tamarins to go to, after talking with the appropriate curators and/or directors.

One sure home for animals

Hey guys,
The local news out our way is reporting that Dubbo will apparently be receiving quite a few new additions from Coffs Harbour zoo. so we know of atleast one of the places taking on these animals.

Tamarins/Capuchins

Yes , I got them mixed up .
Pleased to hear that Coffs Harbour was a memeber of ARAZPA , and pleased to hear that the animals will be dispersed with some thought and care .
I wonder who is getting the tame python ?
I wish Wellington can take it , but no such luck !!
