Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Columbus Zoo and Aquarium News - 2013

The Zoos Pair of Snowy Owls, Blizzard and Storm were sent to Binghampton zoo in New York. They will be on exhibit and Hoping for Breeding. I remember hearing that Columbus was going to have them on exhibit but did that even happen? I'm wondering why the zoo sent them out...

Its funny my first thought was the Dallas World Aquarium then it was mentioned several paragraphs into the article.:D This would be a wonderful thing, often in the winter Bonnie and I can spend the whole day in our Rainforest at the Cleveland Zoo.What would really be cool is if they focused on the two geographical zones not currently represented at the zoo (South America and Madagascar)both of which are in the zoos masterplan.Putting these downtown would free the land in Powell for other rumored projects such as African Elephants and a new gorilla exhibit.

Mini-update from a quick trip to the zoo today:
-Many (if not all) of the dinosaurs are setup around the boat ride's path in the Islands of Southeast Asia. I hope they do a better job of disguising the metal bases they sit on.
-The Red River Hog piglets were on exhibit this afternoon, very cute too!
-Dr. Sheldon Cooper was also out in the exhibit today.
-There are two Asian Small Clawed otter pups on display in the Education Conservation building that were born in February.
