• Public viewing of the koalas has now been blocked off due to construction for the Tasmanian devils next to it. It actually looks like they are using the outside koala yard for the devils. I'm wondering if the koalas will only have access to their indoor exhibit for now on.
• Lee the male polar bear seems to be adjusting well. Anana tolerates him, but Aurora wants nothing to do with him yet. I also heard one of the docents mention, he likes to separate the girls.

I agree. They were very deep previously. Look to be level with the viewing area now.

Two new developments I noticed today:

-Lakeside Grill (near Asia Quest) is being renovated

-Elephant Yard is being renovated. Sign mentioned more shade added, slope flattened, and retaining wall added to the far side.

The zoo has announced the first two births of 2019: a female addra gazelle born on January 7th and a sex-yet-to-be-determined silvery langur born on January 23rd.

The zoo will be receiving a two-and-a-half-week-old Palawan binturong cub from the Nashville Zoo sometime this week.

The zoo has welcomed a new pair of Mexican grey wolves-- 1.0 "Storm" from the Endangered Wolf Center and 0.1 "Winter" from the Wolf Conservation Center.
