Where, oh where, are our little doggies?
That's the tune keepers at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium are singing as they hunt for prairie dogs that have wriggled their way out of temporary zoo housing and are on the loose.
Eleven escaped and four have been found, all on the grounds. Zookeepers are asking neighbors in the Powell area to keep an eye out for the little creatures in case some have strayed further.
The missing black-tailed prairie dogs are part of a group of 20 brought to Columbus in November from another zoo. They were kept in quarantine and then moved to temporary quarters two weeks ago to await the spring, when they will be added to the zoo's prairie dog exhibit.
