Controversial Howletts Wild Animal Park Video Released

I think she was perfectly safe with those gorillas- they look like female subadults to me. Note that there is no Silverback present- I doubt even the Aspinalls would trust even their friendliest silverback with small children, they are just too strong. In all the previous videos of Aspinall Snr in with Gorilla groups, there is only a silverback in the films where children aren't present.

I agree almost completely. But I think the soundtrack names the gorillas as Sounda, Sangha and Kouillou - who I guess would have been housed together around 1990 when they were about 5 years old. Kouillou is currently one of Howletts breeding silverbacks.

I think those three did come in together, though the two females later joined 'Kifu's group.

I know Kouillou is a very humanised male, possibly the most humanised silverback they have, yet he breeds well too. I would be interested to know if anyone still 'goes in' with any of their males any more- I believe Damien (and keepers?)still goes in with 'Kifu' as he's always the one that appears in any publicity photos or video, but I am not sure about any of the others.
 
Damian Aspinal only goes in with Kifu's group and some keepers i think can go in with the group and if Kifus 9 year old son Ebeki gets his own group then i would imagine Damian and keepers would also go in with them.

Does anyone know if the keepers can go in with any of the other animals anymore??

That is what I thought. Like 'Kifu' before him, 'Ebeki' may carry on the tradition in the future possibly.
