Zoologisk Have København

this is the new Australian exhibit Marys Australske Have with
new species such as the laughing bird, the rock kangaroo and the cockatoo as
anteater.

ZOO's has also ambitious master plan, which in the coming years will mean comprehensive changes and updates to the animals' facilities. I hope some more news about masterplan is coming
Echidna perhaps? What taxon Tasmanian or mainland?:

Hello. I checked the news of the Australian expansion but the automatic translation wasn't very good. Do we know when the new enclosure/aviary will be open? I want to visit the zoo this year. Thanks!

The article doesn’t say anything specific other than its expected to open for guests this summer.

Giant pandas introduced in the hope they’ll mate successfully:

Pandas in Copenhagen zoo meet again to mate - future cubs belong to China - Scandasia

This is the third time that the pandas in Copenhagen Zoo are trying to reproduce and should they succeed, the future cubs will belong to China just like the male named Xing Er and the female named Mao Sun do.

Xing Er and Mao Sun arrived in Denmark on April 4, 2019, from Chengdu Panda Base in China.

First visit today, so no expert but a couple notes.

• (Reticulated) Giraffe born yesterday (30th April) around 6am. In the house with the mother. Other giraffe and zebra very inquisitive. Been mentioned on the zoo’s Instagram.

• (2) Lion, (2) zebra and (1) hippo offspring all looking well and putting a show on, as were two white rhinos, relentless chasing each other for a good hour.

• At least 2 (very small) Tasmanian Eastern Grey Kangaroo Joeys visible in pouches.

• New Australian development was actively in progress, to the left of the impressive Tasmanian devil exhibits.

A fire broke out in the giraffe stables this morning, luckly all animals were able to get out of the building! The Cape weavers (Ploceus capensis) that also live in this building have been moved to a different enclosure to observe them for smoke poisoning. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but luckly no animals were hurt and only one corner of the building needs to be rebuilt. The giraffes can already return to the barn this evening, since their part of the barn has been damaged by the fire.

Update on the australian exhibit “mary’s Australia”.
Looks like progress is going well. The gereral idea is starting to show and some of the “aviary” pillars are up.

Do we have an opening date? I'll be visiting mid-August. Any chance it's open by then?

Honestly, that's very doubtful. Copenhagen has never opened their major exhibits at the time they've originally advertised. Even in a more punctual zoo, I wouldn't get my hopes up that a relatively unfinished exhibit like that would open in 1.5 months.
