Zoologisk Have København on Instagram: "Kan I holde til endnu en dyreunge? Ja? Jamen så værsgo' da Det er første gang i 9 år, at vi får en tigerunge! Hvilket er super glædeligt, fordi der er efterspørgsel på unger fra lige netop vores tigere i avlsprogrammet for den truede kat. Det er den nye han, der ankom for knapt to år siden, og vores gamle hun, der endelig har fundet melodien. Vi har gemt lidt på nyheden, fordi vi først ville være sikre på, at ungen overlevede. Moren er nemlig både lidt oppe i årene og førstegangsfødende, og det betyder, at der er større risiko for uheld. Men nu er vi ovre de første par kritiske uger og kan med glæde meddele, at ungen er sund og stærk. Ved fødslen vejer sådan en unge kun 700 gram og er blind og helt hjælpeløs, men nu, tre uger senere, er den allerede oppe på 2,5 kg. "

Zoo copenhagen have started renoveted polar bear facilities( the artic ring) but i dont how renovate and expand the facility. Zoo has also started with building the Chimpanzee outdoor facility. This is good the new animal facilities for the species

After a generous donation, can zoo copenhagen build
an outdoor facility for the chimpanzees. Construction starts immediately, and if everything goes according to plan, the outdoor facility will be ready by autumn.

Zoo copenhagen have started renoveted polar bear facilities but I dont now how?
 
Great news! When I visited the zoo, one of the things I liked the least were the poor chimps always locked indoors. The addition of an outdoor area for them is awesome.

The polar bear facility is in the process of being repaired, as the membrane in the water basin was close to leaking. At the same time, we are improving some other small things, but the really big expansion will only be further in the future, as funding from foundations must first be raised.

It needs major expansion, it really is not a good enclosure for the polar bears which is disappointing considering it's only a decade old.

how many okapis are there in kbh zoo? what does the new okapi facility look like inside and out? they renovated the facility June-September 2023
