1/Sadly one of the female Asiatic lions died last week after sustaining a
wound in her side from a fight with the other male and female.I
believe it was the elderly female originally from Dudley Zoo(?)

2/New arched bridge built over end of wildfowl lake nearest rhino house
with new waterfall feature. A large number of bar-headed and red
breasted geese on lake.

3/A number of black and white lemur seen in quarantine between lion
and giraffe enclosures.

Keepers at the park think that they have had wolverine cubs. They are unsure if Sharapova the female has had cubs but they think she has. Fingers crossed all is well.:D

Would this be a first UK breeding, I know it's got to be the first for a number of years, anybody help?

March 2012 News

The swinhoes striped squirells are being moved to a new enlarged enclosure which was previously the polecat cage. They are being moved to the childrens farm.

A trio of clouded leopards can be seen in the cage set back by the
black and white colobus monkeys.

Bridge over wildfowl lake almost completed.

Trio? I believe the current pair are 1.1.

My mistake, it's not been announced so I didn't know.
Thats because they aren't officialy on-show but if you look in the right places you can see them, also I don't post everything I'm told on here!As a surprise is for people is good every now and again even me.

There seems to be a lot of facebook chatter regarding wolverine kits, can anyone confirm there has been a birth?

Just a few updates from my last two visits:

Births
One colobus monkey was born on the 31st of March.
Emperor Tamarin born recently.
3 or 4 Gambian Pouched Rats.
1 Ring tail lemur.

White faced Saki are no longer mixed with the agouti and squirrel monkeys, no idea where they've gone.
Polecat has replaced the skunks in the children's farm barn area.
Swinhoe's Striped Squirrels have been moved to the old Polecat house (which has been enlarged)

Insect house is still closed for refurbishment, and I've not managed to see the wolverine kits.

I alos bought "Rhinos on the lawn" which I found an excellent read (I've been waiting for a history of Cotswolds for ages!)

This would be the first birth at Cotswold of Colobus since 1.3 arrived from PL last year, also regarding the wolverines I believe they are three pups/kits.

You forgot to mention the Clouded Leopard!

The Clouded Leopard birth was mentioned a few weeks back on another thread (?), plus, I've not seen the cloudies at all since they moved in! It was mentioned they were in the small holding cage behind the colobus, but on my last two visits this cage has been empty, so I'm not sure where they're hidden away now?

It's mentioned earlier on in the thread, but it's not been announced by CWP as there not officially 'on show'.

There are believed to be in the cage behind the colobus', just keep your eye out.
