Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens Cotswold Wildlife Park news 2018

Had a nice (if drizzly) visit today. Looking at previous posts, there were two pallas cats visible today and we spotted 3 wolverine cubs. The sign says they were born on 4th Feb.

So, looking back I am reminded that there were three cubs 4(?) years ago, but one was rejected and thus hand reared. I do remember visiting and seeing Nimbus clambering all over her foster mother (a keeper at the park, or owner?) and think there were two in the enclosure the last time I visited later. I am guessing therefore that Nimbus was successfully reintroduced to her siblings, while mum and dad are housed separately. As always, happy to be corrected :D

There is currently 5 clouded leopards. Mum and Dad are in the off show enclosure and I believe are no longer breeding. I'm not sure on how many cubs they have had but it's been a few if I was to guess I'd say somewhere in the region of 10.

3 currently living in the main enclosure. I also believe that Nimbus is not one of the 3 that are currently on show

Who are the mum and dad (names and ages)?

Not sure of names or age but I believe they came from Howletts around 8 or 9 years ago. I know the Mum has had one of her front legs removed and was always amazing seeing her climb around the enclosure

I had no idea they'd been so successful. Great achievement.

I saw a three-legged clouded leopard at Howletts last June (2017). Could that be the same animal sent back to Howletts? Or does Howletts have/had more than one three-legged cloudie?

I believe that the Mum and Dad originally came from Howletts, the Mum lost her leg while at Cotswold Wildlife Park. I was told that when Cloudies mate the male often gets violent towards the female.

I was at Cotswold Wildlife Park on 24th June and both the parents were in the off show enclosure.

This is a long shot but do any of you know which bird species are currently on show at the collection as I am thinking of visiting Friday before my trip to the isle of wight Sunday

Their website has a photo montage under 'birds' that shows the most prominent species- but not all of course. Well worth a visit definately.
