Which vaccine have you had?

First jab a few weeks ago (Pfizer). Mildly sore arm and a headache. Can't wait to get the second dose. Elderly mother had AZ and also only a slightly sore arm.

Given the high rate of infections in the area I teach in, vaccinations seem to be offered on a first-come-first-served basis by just ringing the GP. My 23 year old TA with no underlying conditions had her first jab before the teacher in her 50s with asthma just because she rang sooner!

We are not in an area with any specific problems, but have had keepers who are in their 30's and now 20's, called up by their doctors. None have any underlying issues, and none could guess why they have been called before others who are older; but of course they accepted their offers. It does appear to be quite erratic...

Having just remembered this thread, I'll check in. I had the Astra Zeneca jab on Wednesday last week. No adverse effects at all. I'm very happy to have been 'done', the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer.

I had my second AZ jab on Monday evening at St. Helens rugby ground, again excellent organisation at the location. All was fine until Tuesday am, around 10 am after being up and about for a couple of hours I started to feel very lethargic and was literally drained of energy and 'spaced out' for the next 36 hours or so, a full recovery was a quick as the symptoms started, within 30 mins. Very strange. This is after having no side effects from the first jab.

Sounds pretty akin to the effect the first jab had on me.

I take it you are still awaiting jab number two? I was due mine mid May but received a text from my GP that if I wished to go sooner slots available.
My mother in law had her first 3 weeks before me and is still awaiting second, nearly 11 weeks for her now, not ideal. Different councils & different GP's. It makes a big difference to efficiency.

I just got my shot (Pfeizer) about two weeks ago. Unfortunately I was hit rather hard with side affects (which is odd, since shots don't usually bug me), however I'm not sure if it was from the shot, or just coincidence that I caught something around the same time.

I was tired and had a fairly sore arm the day after, but for about 4 days after that, I felt like I had a cold coming on, upset stomach, extremely tired, and generally somewhat sore.

Happily, all that has since blown over, and I am back to 100% health, and feeling much safer now. Overall it was a smooth, fairly quick experience, and I look forwards to getting my second shot down the road!

Yeah, due for round 2 on June 1st :)

Moderna 1: Very sore upper arm. Mild joint pain and cold-like symptoms for a few days.
Moderna 2: Fine the first 12 hours, other than soreness in arm. 12 hours in, fingers started to hurt, followed by rest of joints. By 14 hours I could barely move and I was absolutely freezing. Went to bed, had the room temp up 7 degrees and all the blankets on me but I was still shivering. That lasted 5 hours before warming up a bit to just having chills. Spent the day alternating between chilled and hot. Joint pain gradually went away over the next 24 hours. The next night (last night) I kept waking up drenched in sweat. Arm is still very sore.

First vaccination (AstraZeneca) on 14th February. No side effects whatsoever except for a slightly sore arm which only lasted a couple of days.
Second jab booked for 2nd May.
I had my second vaccination four days ago. As with my first jab, I experienced no side-effects except for a sore arm (which was actually more painful the second time) and that is a small price to pay for the protection received.

Ditto experience, including more painful arm second time. Though the 2nd time I did feel a bit odd the day after- could be related-or not.

I got my first shot of Pfizer on Wednesday and so far only a bit of pain around the injection area. I'm one of the first in my age group to get the vaccine in my state and I'm glad to help put an end to this Pandemic.

First Pfizer jab: No side effects, a little sore

Second Pfizer jab: Felt fine after getting it. The next day I had a small fever and a headache, but it only lasted a day.
