I’ve had both jabs (Pfizer). Almost no side effects.
I have to remain politically neutral (so won’t write an essay badmouthing the New Zealand government), but the general feeling is the vaccine rollout has been VERY slow.
Only 25% of New Zealanders are fully vaccinated; compared to the UK (64%) and the USA (53%).
There was a story out a while back that New Zealand would not be spending additional money to queue jump (in sourcing vaccines), as that wouldn’t be “ethical.” I agree with those who said it’s like being in an aviation emergency, “You put your own oxygen mask on first,” and additionally question if any of the people in the countries we didn’t queue jump know or care about our sacrifice? Given that New Zealand was ranked 120th in the world back in June, I’d imagine the list would be comparatively short.
