I have checked the events on their websites, even though they didn't mention anything about Craig Busch's visit. Wondering if they are scared to give their publicity about his tour and now awakening that he is really a bad and cruel guy? Interesting!

1. people are entitled to their opinion
2. people are entitled to protest if they think something is wrong

I will not tolerate any incitement to illegal behaviour or villification based on race, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, religion, etc.

In general, the discussions here about about the reported actions of a high-profile individual, or the decisions by some other organisations to support him. I don't see any problem with the general discussion - although people do need to be a bit careful about the claims they make.

One thing I would caution everyone about is to please ensure you understand the difference between fact and opinion. Please don't state your opinion as if it were fact unless you are willing to quote your sources for verification. Also please do not rely on hearsay as evidence of fact - just because you "know someone who worked there" doesn't make what they say factual.

I don't expect people to only ever state legal facts, this is not a court of law - however, you do need to appreciate the difference between opinion, facts, and hearsay.

In my opinion, both sides of the debate are guilty of inflaming the argument.

Sorry admin if i have caused any problems here. The videos i have placed here are from a tv program a few years back showing what Craig is like, I thought this would be a place to let others see.
 
Okay, I'm really confused at all this. And I feel like I've really not been paying attention recently and I must have missed the memo. I'm assuming this is the Lion Man guy off of Sky or whatever channel it is.

What has he done? I've read both this thread and the other one, and have got the general gist, but I was just wondering if somebody could give me the facts of exactly what has been allegedly done and what zoo's he is visiting etc.

I don't believe any dates or zoos have been finalised yet.

Yes actually I had. However in itself that would not be a bad thing because it would expose the collections he did visit for what they really stand for.
As of now I am unaware of any collection other than Dartmoor which has actually stated that they will be hosting a visit. I suppose it is possible through the power of Facebook to announce a visit an hour or two in advance and still get a worthwhile fan turnout.
It will be a sad day for the zoo world if any UK collection supports this tour.

Having researched it a bit, I'm no fan of this guy. I mean I never was before, really, but I never had an issue with the guy either. I've always wanted to visit Dartmoor, ever since I read the book. If they continue with this visit however, I shan't be going.
 
Oh the lovely Nick Holt posting what he beleives as the truth, as we all know that tv reports are not always true. Especialy when the report is all one sided. The only person who still has to comment is Craig Busch. All you care about is what informatin you receive from ZWG. Where Craig was dismised and it was a breech of contract that was drawn up. And if Craig Busch was such a bad person WHY are ZWG still using his name and trademark to sell products and to sell tickets for people to get in to ZWG. And when people see the programme on SKY 1 an visit ZWG Fan page to ask about Craig there posts are deleted very quickly. We all know where Nick Holt stands on his views about Craig Busch, So why does he like to posts on Craigs Facebook page agreeing with people about there comments. I wonder Nick What are you going to do when Craig comes over here. Protest with your Banners I think Not. :rolleyes:

From the statement in your post (quoted above) you are implying that it is NOT acceptable for the zoo professionals, conservationists and extremely well informed enthusiasts on this forum to get information from a TV documentary, but that it is acceptable for all the "craig-supporters" to get theirs from a show directed, edited and acted in by Craig?
Do you people believe everything you see in "mock-umentaries"???

Here are some links that might help

The First is a report from the New Zealand Employment Relations Authority. This document gives a factual and unbiased account of the issues surrounding Mr Busch. This document is from Mr Busch's application for Interim Reinstatement from December 2008

Craig Busch ERA Aa 415 08

Mr Busch also had 21 Lions and 9 Tigers declawed between 2000 - May 2008. No action was taken by MAF because the MAF Veterinarians had made no attempt to question these procedures. The link below is the MAF Enforcement Directorate Declawing Investigation Report completed February 2009. This again is a government document released under the Official Information Act

Lastly this is an official document from the High Court of New Zealand from 2008 concerning Mr Busch's application to regain control of the Park. A full factual background concerning the dispute is covered in this 18 Page PDF Document.
