Cranes

I saw Whooping Crane at San Antonio Zoo back in the 1980's. I think they had the only pair(and they were incubating an egg!) in captivity at that time. Saw Siberian Crane in India (Delhi Zoo?) and have seen all/most of the others so probably have seen all of them by now.

Pretty sure ICF were breeding them by then.

Also, how tall really are Blue Cranes (Anthropoides paradiseus)? I've seen them closeup at several zoos and due to them either being lower in a moat or whatever else, they don't seem to be only 3.5 feet tall. They appear bigger in person.

Today I have seen Blue cranes together with Demoiselle cranes (which is known to be a smallest crane species) and Grey crowned cranes. These three species now shares one enclosure in Moscow. The Blue cranes seems to be equal in size with Grey crowned and both species are significantly taller than Demoiselle.
 
Only missing the Whooper crane - have not only seen all other species but also taken care for all other species :) !
 
I have seen Sandhill, East African-crowned, Sarus, Siberian, Red-crowned, Blue, Wattled, Brolga, Common, Demoiselle and Whooping cranes. Also, does anyone know the status of hooded, black-necked, west African-crowned and white-naped cranes in captivity in North America?

Gray Crowned Crane (ICF, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Timbavati WP, Special Memories)
Siberian Crane (ICF)
Sandhill Crane (ICF, Northeastern Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Henry Vilas, Bay Beach WS, Special Memories, Wild)
White-Naped Crane (ICF)
Sarus Crane (ICF)
Brolga (ICF)
Wattled Crane (ICF, Northeastern Wisconsin)
Blue Crane (ICF)
Demoiselle Crane (ICF, Special Memories)
Red-Crowned Crane (ICF)
Whooping Crane (ICF, Milwaukee, Wild)
Eurasian Crane (ICF)
Hooded Crane (ICF)
Black-Necked Crane (ICF)
 
Personally if a person has been to the ICF, listing a species comes across as incredibly pretentious to me. It is a well know fact they have all 15 species on display.

There are plenty of crowned cranes in the USA, although I'm not sure which species.

As far as cranes I've seen, I've seen crowned cranes and wattles cranes in captivity and sandhill and whooping cranes in the wild.
 
I am only missing the whooping cranes, because they weren´t on Display in Europe since 1909 (last animal died in Berlin Zoo).

I hope, that there will be a Chance to see them in Walsrode or Pairi Daiza one day (maybe Berlin could be another potential candidate).
