Creationism, Darwinism, or 'Other'?

I think it is funny. Only Creationists use the term Darwinism, like we evolutionists actually worship Chucky D.

They do in England. Go to the Natural History Museum (London). It is built to look just like a church cathedral and at the end (where the altar would be) on top of the stairs is a large marble statue of Charles Darwin looking down over the "congregation." You may think I am exaggerating, but if you have seen it in person, the comparison is undeniable.

Agreed. I just realised that I don't have a photo outside the museum though. It was probably raining as usual and I sought refuge inside. :D

It was built like a cathedral because of it's former director and founder Richard Owen. He was a great man of science but also a very devout Christian and the museum was built very intentionally resemble the great medieval cathedrals of Europe. Richard Owen started as a friend of Darwin's but later became one of the greatest criticisers of his "theory of evolution" stating that species could never change.

In 2009 his statue was replaced with Darwin's to mark Darwin's anniversary and his much more plausible answer to the question of the diversity of life.

DavidBrown: I believe that answer was wrong, as the program was corrupted when the original primitive humanoid population of Earth was wiped out after a spaceship full of unwanted hairdressers etc crashlanded.

The Ultimate Question is "What is six times nine"

From Wikipedia (and Adams work):
At the end of the first radio series (and television series, as well as the novel The Restaurant at the End of the Universe) Arthur Dent, having escaped the Earth's destruction, potentially has some of the computational matrix in his brain. He attempts to discover The Ultimate Question by extracting it from his brainwave patterns, as abusively suggested by Marvin the Paranoid Android, when a Scrabble-playing caveman spells out forty two. Arthur pulls random letters from a bag, but only gets the sentence "What do you get if you multiply six by nine"?
“ "Six by nine. Forty two."
"That's it. That's all there is."
"I always thought something was fundamentally wrong with the universe"
Phrases from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I share your favorite Creation Story. Hopefully we can successfully conserve some of the wonderful species and ecosystems on Earth before the Great White Handkerchief comes to get us all.

RowanGreen beat me to this - as noted, the 'six by nine' answer is explicitly noted as either just plain wrong or at best a corrupted version due to the influence of the Golgafrinchan spacecraft on human evolution (i.e. they wiped out the 'true' Earthlings and replaced them 2 million years before the Earth Computer's program ended). Presumably leaving the computer desperately trying to some sort of result to avoid embarrassment!

It is later established (courtesy of the TruthWholeTruthAndNothingBut-telling madman Prak) that the Answer and Question are mutually exclusive - it is not possible for both to be known about the same Universe without the whole Universe ceasing to exist and being replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

It is possible, of course, that this has Already Happened...
