Crocodilians in American Zoos

They're behind the scenes.
Where did NY Bronx get Siamese crocs from recently.
NOTE: They imported wild stock and bred in the distant past here (in the 1980's).

Detroit: not listed, but all their breeding animals and offspring mysteriously not currently shown.

Gatorama in Palmdale FL. has:
American Alligator
American Crocodile (claims largest collection of them at over 17 animals, most of which are large adults)

I'm headed there late next month, so I will do a review of the facility.

Also, Gatorworld Parks of Florida has closed, according to a post on Facebook that they made a bit ago.

I do not believe that this species of Spectacled Caiman is in captivity. It was recently discovered to not be extinct.
Kind of, it was suspected by science that it was still there, but the in-country situation made looking for it not really possible. But the "rediscovery" was a few years ago, and there is also the possibility that captive Spectacled were misidentified, similar to the situation with the West African Crocodiles. But you are probably right, I don't think there are any currently, I am just hoping :)

(side note, I love the show "Extinct or Alive")

Ok I understand your question now and I agree that they are probably not in captivity mainly due to the fact that they look so different from normal spectacled caimans. I also love Extinct or alive

Since I cannot edit my own post....

It looks like some genetic testing in 2020 showed little to no variance between them and the nominate species, so likely genetic testing of individuals in US collections would not work - if it even is a different subspecies at all.

The study claims the animals are in the spectrum of difference for the species.

They didn't get Siamese Crocodiles recently. A few years ago now I heard a keeper mention them as an animal they had off-exhibit, though I have no idea how many or if they're still there.

Was it mentioned on another thread where Detroit's Siam's went? As noted they were quite successful breeding them and I saw the adults and a couple of the young the only time I visited that zoo. Detroit also had an African Slender Snout in the old hippo enclosure

Detroit sent its Siamese crocodiles elsewhere. The keeper explained that the exhibit, in the center of the reptile house, really wasn't big enough for them. They brought in a Chinese alligator and the eeper also told me that they're looking to acquire a friend for him but apparently this is not easy to do.

It's a shame, really. Apparently they're going with "West African Crocodile" officially and they had a chance for a really cool name, "Desert Crocodile" or "Sacred Crocodile."
Right? They will always be the Desert Crocodile to me.

Meh, I prefer Chinese Alligators anyways, but that it probably just me.

Any idea where the Siamese crocs got sent over to?

Sacred Crocodile is a cool name! I haven't heard them referred to as that before. IMO neither West African nor Desert Crocodile really fit as a good name for them since they occur across the continent, can be confused with West African Nile Crocodile, and mainly occur in non-desert habitats.
