Recently I have been rather obsessed with sifakas (more than usual:p). I have gathered loads of information about the current situation of Crowned Sifaka in Europe and have started compiling a list of all of the sifaka in captivity.

Have there been any breeding successes lately? According to Zootierliste, there is a new holder in Germany but the Belfast Zoo and the Port Lympne Wild Animal Park don't house crowned sifakas anymore.

To my knowledge, the most recent birth was at Zoo de Besançon in France. A male was born there in January this year. A male was also born at Zoo Mulhouse in December 2022. In addition, a new pair of sifakas was formed at Apenheul this year.
 
In the Heidelberg thread I read the last sifaka in Germany died last year in Heidelberg. I don't know yet if it is Joa or Toky, who lived since 2023 in Heidelberg.
