If you've been following my Wildlife Poster thread, you might have seen this one post I made which involved a 14-page "mini encyclopedia" featuring 60 of my animal drawings. The initial idea was inspired by the marine encyclopedia used in the Endless Ocean games, which kept track of all the species discovered by the player. I dunno, I just liked the way it looked, and wanted to do something similar with my own drawings.
Well, last month, I decided to do an expanded version, this time totaling at 26 pages and featuring twice as many animals as the previous edition.
I definitely think this was a worthy expansion of the previous encyclopedia, though at some point, I would like to do an even bigger expansion featuring 250-300 species, and I was hoping to get some ideas on how I could further expand this idea, as well as suggestions for what species I could add in the future.
You can suggest whatever animals you want, but I'd primarily like to focus on species from the following ten regions:
ARCTIC - polar regions of North America and Eurasia
SOUTHWEST - Mojave, Sonoran, and Great Basin deserts
AMAZONIA - tropical rainforests of Central and South America
BAVARIA - temperate forests of western Europe
SAVANNAH - tropical grasslands of east and south Africa
CONGO - tropical forests of west and central Africa
EAST ASIA - tropical forests of India, China, and southeast Asia
OUTBACK - Australia and Tasmania
BARRIER REEF - the great barrier reef and its surrounding waters
ANTARCTIC - Antarctica and its surrounding waters
MISCELLANEOUS - basically any species that doesn't fit into the above regions
Keep in mind that these regions are generalizations for the sake of inclusivity, but they're the regions I like to focus on whenever I make animal-related works. It allows me to tackle a diverse variety of species without overwhelming myself.
To aid in any suggestions, here’s a full list of species I’ve drawn so far and the regions they’d correspond with. If there’s in animals you’d like to see in a future encyclopedia that aren’t already on the list, be sure to give them a shout-out!

(Note that I don’t plan to include every animal on this list in the future expansion - I’m simply leaving them as options for now)
All right, I know it's been a long time since I posted any new animal drawings to this site, but I do have some news regarding my work. Sometime last month, the file I was using to create the animal drawings got corrupted, so I pretty much lost everything inside the document. As shown in my last post, I had over a hundred animal drawings on that file, so it was very disheartening to basically have to start over again from scratch.
Even though the original file seems permanently corrupted however, I have finally recovered nearly all of the animal drawings that were lost, and so I wouldn't come out of this experience with nothing, I made sure to draw plenty of new animals that were absent from the previous document. The full list of newly-drawn animals is provided in the link below.

With the addition of 91 new species, the current document now stands at 295 animal drawings (just to make sure I never lose this work again, I went out of my way to create multiple backups of the file). It took quite a while, but I was able to recover from my loss and come back stronger.
To showcase both the new and old animal drawings I've done, I've finally decided to make yet another expansion to my encyclopedia project, this time going from 120 to 180 species. Not nearly as ambitious as the 200-300+ number I previously suggested, but I thought it might be nice to stick with multiples of 60. Now that I'm doing this project for the third time, I think it's nice to look back at the different editions and see how each one expands its representation of the animal kingdom. I hope you guys have as much fun seeing these projects as much as I enjoy putting them together.
