A major aquarium has been proposed for Easton, PA. If it comes to fruition, the aquarium will be part of a second location for the Da Vinci Science Center. The whole development is estimated to cost $130m.

It is interesting that the state of Pennsylvania currently does not have an aquarium but the proposed facility on this link and the upcoming Ripley's Aquarium will suddenly provide residents of the state a choice between two establishments. The USA now edges one step closer to having a whopping 150 public aquariums.

The aquarium has been scrapped from plans and replaced by a "nature dome" focusing on native habitats. The final masterplan is expected in June.
