Dallas Zoo Dallas Zoo News 2014

They're adding a pair of capybaras to the bird show.

There was also some filming for "The Amazing Race" Saturday.

The Amazing Race and hopefully a challenge at the zoo!

Seriously my two favourite things! Can't wait :):)

The monorail ride has been closed down. The zoo is doing a study on how to best remodel or update the attraction.

Does the zoo currently have any ongoing exhibit projects or any rhinos on display?

1) Ongoing exhibit projects - They're doing some renovations to the reptile building.

2) Any rhinos on display - There haven't been any rhinos since 2012.

The zoo now has a new silverback gorilla. 19 year old Subira has arrived from Granby Zoo in Quebec, cleared quarantine and been introduced to his new group of lovely ladies who are quite smitten with him. His offspring will be very valuable because Subira is the son of Toronto's wild born gorillas Charles and the late Samantha. He is one his mothers 4 surviving offspring. And unlike his predecessor, Patrick, another Toronto owned male, he was mother raised from the start and is very social. He has now been in display with the girls for about a month.

At the Wildlife Stage in the WOA, they're allowing guests to feed the flamingos when it's their turn to show up.
