Dallas Zoo Update

I can't remember their names. However, according to one of the keepers, they're thinking about it. But first, they have to get used to each other because they each came from a different litter at a different zoo. Also to consider is the fact that one of them, can't remember which one, suffers from some sort of brain damage. I don't know what caused it. At any rate, because of the injury, they provide the cat with ramps to make it easier to get to the higher places of the exhibit. And so, the injury may have an effect on the possibility of breeding. I don't know for sure. I don't know much about animals and it's been awhile since I last talked to one of the keepers.

Ok, because I remember hearing that Beardsley sent Milagre, their "miracle Ocelot cub" (called a miracle because he was only the third ocelot to be conceived through AI and the first for conservation purposes), to Dallas in early 2011. Kuma has (or had) valuable genes to the Brazilian Ocelot population, so Milagre would be good for breeding. I don't think he has brain damage of any kind.

based on my memory of the master plan,Texas cats (old cat row: ocelot, cougar, and bobcat) will remain. as will wings of wonder, the existing childrens zoo, the prime meridian restaurant, and the otter and tiger habitats.

The hill (the area closed since GOTS oppened) is still up in the air between south american and north american, snd most everything else is expecting and overhall with Asia being the major theme. The primate rowis supposed to be rennovated and re-themed with only Asian primates, and I believe Malayan tapirs will be brought in at some point.

As is often common with Zoos and their master plans. Though how many Master plans does a Zoo go through before they are just a plan?

The problem with master plans is that they get changed more times than a baby's diaper.

That is exactly what they are intended to do.
It is not like the blueprints for a building.
It is a plan for the mid-term future only.

Like the plans you made for your life when you were graduating High School. And then after college you made a new plan (however informally you did it), and then you met your future life partner and you made yet a new plan.......and then you had a kid who made yet a newer plan
