Highland Wildlife Park Dates for Zoo Chatters tour visit to HWP

Una Richardson has emailed me with a list of weekend dates that Douglas Richarson, the Animal Collection Manager, is on duty and happy to do a full park tour for Zoo Chatters. As well as the tour he is happy to give updates on animals and answer any enquiries anyone has.

The dates he is on duty are as follows;

July 3rd and 4th
August 6th and 7th
September 3rd and 4th

Can people please reply to this post with the date that they would prefer so that we can get this tour organised asap? If there are more than one date that you can definitely make then please post that too so that we can pick the one that suits the most people.

I just hope that there are people willing to commit to a date because I think it's a fab offer and I'm really hoping it goes ahead!

Would love to have done it but none of those dates are any good,first too short notice,second birthday weekend,third in Germany getting some zoo visiting done!!Any way hope it all goes well and another is done at somepoint,as I know people will have an enjoyable time and learn alot form Mr.Richardson!
 
I am hoping to visit Scotland in early September, so I would love the chance of joining the HWP tour.

I’m in a similar position.

The July date is too short notice, I’m busy on the August date and I’ll be in Germany (for Zoo Historica in Leipzig Zoo) on the September date.

I would really like to attend one of these events at the Highland Wildlife Park, though, so I trust that a subsequent event will be arranged for some future occasion.
 
Apologies for the short notice of the July dates, but I was on holiday for a fortnight and had no internet access so only got Una's email at the weekend.
 
I'd really like to do this and would love to support any collection that makes such a generous offer but it's 7 hrs each way so I can't see me making it this time.

So far there's only 3 people up for September. I thought there would be more numbers than that.

Is it worth me asking the park if October would be suitable to them, would more people be interested in that? I think any later in November and December then you are risking the snow and ice so risking last minute cancellations too much and people have so much on near Christmas and that.
 
I am guessing the later in the year might be better and it might be an idea to coincide the visit with the arrival of the musk oxen, if it is later in the year that they are arriving.
 
As long as i am given about 2months notice i am free... there is a few days in october i might not be able to make it... or i ight make it but bring a friend that is visiting from india... she would probably love it too :)
