Dead Bear Cub Found in Central Park

Pet? There's no chance that this is a wild bear that just wandered in from the forest, right?

Now and again deer will wander on to the mainland/Manhattan from Staten Island, but no bears. Its New York, maybe some idiot tried to keep it in their apartment and it either escaped or died and was left there.

Reminds me of what happened in the Netherlands last year, some people killed a wolf in Poland an took it in their car and dumped it in the Netherlands (where it was thought to be the first wolf in over a century), so maybe someone just dumped the bear over there, though it is a wild animal that was taken from somewhere else....

I recon it was hit by a car and someone picked it up and dropped it in the park to stir people up.

A necropsy has shown that the cub was female and that it was hit by a car.

Maybe someone is trying to cover up a bear related crime.

Pretty obvious reading the story that it had been hit buy a car, how could that be a crime?

Dumping it in the park would be a crime.

Across the Verrazano Bridge to Brooklyn and then across the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan? Or on the ferry? If a deer can wander into Manhattan from Staten Island that deer should be given control of Microsoft.

Believe it or not in some states the police might find a way charge you with a crime if you hit an animal over a certain size, for example I have heard of tickets written after collisions with deer, dogs, etc. I believe the rationale is that you ought to have been able to stop in time for something that big but were going too fast.
