Decline in Turtle doves

Controlling corvids would help too, but that doesn't seam to be mentioned in the what to do discussion. Two of my gardens had nesting turtle doves, but the magpies constantly hunted out the nests, I tried to stop them but as I only go once a week to each garden the doves had no chance. After 2 years the birds stopped coming. Land management has not changed, Lots of game cover and unploughed fields, hedges etc,as well as wheat, corn, and rape seed fields. But I can now count up to 17 magpies at any one time, not to mention Jays and crows.
