Interesting - it says she and a bald eagle are by the former feline house but on my visit I don't recall seeing any exhibits in that area. It also appears the Down Under exhibit is now slated for 2024.

I will be going to Denver zoo for the first time however I will be on a time crunch (1 and a half- 2 hours) What would be the best exhibits to see and the best to skip?

Predator Ridge and Elephant Passage are the most famous exhibits, but Tropical Discovery and Primate Panorama are wonderful as well. Even the hoofstock yards, while old, have a lot of interesting species, especially at a time when most zoos are downsizing their hoofstock collections.

The main skippable areas are the Pachyderm House, Stingray Cove, the Edge, Harmony Hill, "Birds", and Sheep Mountain, but these areas also take much less time to see than Denver's best sections do. This is a zoo with many really great exhibits, so unfortunately you will probably have to miss some of the highlights if you want to limit your trip to 2 hours.

Thanks for the tips! Elephant Passage was really great and my favorite area. The habitat for the Elephants was the best I’ve ever seen and the Asian Small-clawed Otter pups were adorable. The Primate area was definitely also really great and was the best Primate focused area I’ve seen. There were also a bunch of hoofstock rarities some of which I’ve ether never seen before or have only seen once such as Addax, African Buffalo, and Gerenuk. I unfortunately was running low on time after I spent a lil too much time in Elephant Passage and had to rush through Tropical Discovery and mostly skip Predator Ridge :( It was a really great zoo and if I ever come back I’ll make sure to spend more time there.

I pity your time crunch! Predator Ridge is right in the entrance so you can do that no matter what. I would recommend taking the path west and then passing the Pachyderm House to the north side of the zoo and going to Elephant Passage. You can take the same route directly to the exit, or if you have free time, you can pass by the former bird area to the west and go through Primate Panorama, the zoo's other major highlight, and you'll still have a shot at seeing African buffalo and the caprid mountains on your way out.

Tropical Discovery is also amazing but it's smack-dab in some otherwise less impressive exhibits so it takes more time to get to.

One of Denver's California Sea Lions (1.0), Gunnison, moved to the Seneca Zoo. Seneca notes that is while his habitat is renovated. Are all of the sea lions moving out? Has anyone seen or heard what the plan is for the habitat?

Seneca Park Zoo to Care for Denver Zoo Sea Lion 'Gunni' While Construction On New Habitat Occurs | Seneca Park Zoo

More info about the planned renovations and where all the sea lions will be moved.

"We are temporarily saying goodbye to our California sea lions while we revamp their habitat. These important renovations—which are planned to be completed within a year—include a new salt-water system, a new building with larger interior pools, a resurface and refresh of the outdoor pool and deck surfaces, and an upgraded underwater viewing area. In addition to working closely with these precious pinnipeds to ensure they’re well-prepared for their temporary moves, our animal care specialists have also worked with care teams at AZA-accredited organizations around the country to make sure these transitions are as smooth and stress-free as possible for our sea lions.

While nine-year-old Maverick and eight-year-old Gunnison have already moved to their temporary homes at Utah's Hogle Zoo and Seneca Park Zoo, 16-year-old Nick will move to Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute and 22-year-old Luci and 13-year-old Ady will move to Brookfield Zoo at the end of the month. We’re happy to share that Maverick and Gunnison are acclimating nicely and already making new sea lion friends!"
