And 2 as yet un-named immature bulls will be arriving to take their place.

should be interesting to see what will replace the wolves after they leave!!! I hope for another species of wolf.

Bulls from Madrid!

You mean that the current 2:0 are both coming to Edinburgh or just the one? If they both go to Edinburgh then where will Madrid get a replacement bull from as a mate for Chester's Batschii because she is transfering over there next week?

Small bit of news.
One of their female wolverines has left the collection this week leaving a male and another female at Edinburgh. Also recently one Nyala, one Pudu and three Maned wolves have left for pastures new!

The Giant Anteater born in May 09 has been sexed a female. She will be going down to the RSCC shortly according to the zoo's Facebook page.

update from the zoos facebook page.

Edinburgh Zoo
Hi Benn, no Fanindra will soon be moved to the Rotterdam Zoo so that he can take part in the European Endangered Species breeding programme. As you might remember, we recently said goodbye to our other Indian rhino, Baabuu, for the same reason. However, Edinburgh Zoo will receive new young male Indian rhinos. Our head keeper has assured us that we will always have at least one rhino in our collection.
