Based off this video the species list includes(for now) burrowing owls, prairie dogs, giant anteater, bush dog, alpaca?, goat(dwarf is most likely) domestic donkey, chickens, probably sheep, stingrays(cownose most likely), sharks (bamboo and probably leopard. There is probably more animals to be included.

I gotta be honest, been waiting for the news bush dogs were cut from the plan. Extraordinarily impressed if they really are still coming.

Here's a fly-through of the upcoming Discovery Trails exhibit that was released recently. Confirms prairie dog, burrowing owl, giant anteater, bush dog, stingrays and a revitalized farm area.

Thanks for posting. This looks like a great addition to the zoo, and besides the animals it's also got a substantial children's play area that's shown at the end of the video. That's perfect for families!

The current playgrounds are already barely used, and now will get even less use. As such, I don't think we'll have a "too many playgrounds" situation for long, as two outdoor exhibits could probably fit in their space.

I would hope they do plan to make those into habitats but I highly doubt it.

There seems to be a theme of the americas so I still think it’s possible we see black footed ferrets, the squirrel monkeys, snowy owls and the other possible options.

They are on exhibit with the cinereous vultures, I believe rotating. The Sandhills cranes of that habitat are bts.

I thought discovery trails was just going to be a stage name, just the cassowary icon was added.

Juhudi is leaving.

Watching him grow has been a true privilege, and now it's time for Juhudi to take a big, giraffe-sized step into the next chapter of his life. Later this month, Juhudi will be moving to a new home. Though saying goodbye is bittersweet, we know this is a natural and important step. In the wild, young male giraffes typically leave their mothers around 15 months old. The Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Species Survival Plan recommended this move to promote the health, genetic diversity and overall sustainability of giraffe populations in zoos. We're hopeful that one day Juhudi will contribute to the conservation of his species by becoming a father himself. As a fellow AZA-accredited facility, Juhudi's new home will offer him outstanding care and everything he needs to continue thriving as a positive ambassador for giraffes everywhere. Though he will be missed at the Detroit Zoo, we're excited for all that awaits Juhudi in this next adventure. Jennifer Harte and Roy Lewis."

Nope, Jasiri and Tamba have been here for nearly two decades and there are no plans for sending them out or bringing new ones in anytime soon.
