Edinburgh Zoo Developments at Edinburgh Zoo

The gentoo penguins have laid 129 eggs this year with 41 chicks hatching, seven adult gentoos have been transferred to Genoa aquarium.
Other hatchings in the bird section include a Bali starling, to a newly arrived pair, a lady Ross's touraco is currently being hand reared. Blue crowned laughing thrushes are raising 2 chicks, Sydney, the female cassowary laid her first clutch, infertile unfortunately.
The ocellated turkeys have one chick, which is being hand raised, this is a first breeding at the zoo along with 3 Illiger's macaw that are being raised by their parents.
The Chilean flamingo's have 4 chicks hatched, with another 3 eggs yet to hatch.
The thick billed parrots are incubating 2 eggs and the Stanley crane female laid, but did not hatch 1 egg.
The potoroos have been moved from the rainbow landing into the middle enclosure in the koala house, with the aim of creating a mixed exhibit.
The dominant female in the Guinea baboon group has died.
The giant anteaters have been paired up again, and have been observed mating.
The binturong are now in the former Pallas cat enclosure.
AI has been attempted on the female jaguar, but did not work.
Births amongst the hoofstock include young to the chevrotains, lesser kudu and a kid to "Beijing", the hand reared female goral.
The all male vicuna group have been moved to the former reindeer paddock, below the African plains.
