On April 4th, it was reported that the zoo's longtime director Miles Crocker retired on March 29th after 48 years at the facility, 36 years serving as its director. On May 17th, the zoo announced his replacement, Jackson Thompson who spent his 20-year career at the facility under various roles, including Interim Zoo Director.

On November 13th, the zoo announced they acquired (3.0) lesser kudu named Jabari, M'Baku, and Namor which will be on display in the coming week. The zoo also announced they acquired a (0.1) Chacoan peccary named Relish.

On March 11th, the zoo announced that the saki was sexed as (0.1) and named Pearl.

On April 2nd, the zoo announced that a dead wild Canadian goose was found to have avian influenza on zoo grounds which led the facility to move some of the bird species (including the flamingos) behind the scenes. It's been noted that no animal deaths were reported from the zoo at the time of publishing.

On August 7th, it was announced that the zoo helped rehabilitate and release a bald eagle back into the wilds of Missouri.

On July 7th, the zoo announced they started construction on a new boardwalk overlooking the American black bear and swift fox exhibits, as well as a quarter-mile natural section, which will open in early 2026.
