I'm not entirely sure what this is, but it might be an adult male Apistogramma macmasteri, one of the red colour forms.

Sad news from De Oliemeulen to start the year with : the Egyptian cobra has died. The animal was 35 years old and 30 of these years it lived at De Oliemeulen.

A new Egyptian cobra has been obtained and is now living in the same enclosure in which the old one had been kept.

A while ago a rumour was spread about Oliemeulen moving to a new location, does anyone have information about where they are with that right now?

The plan still stands and in the next 2 or 3 years they will be moving to another location near Tilburg.
Ah okay, I think I saw the adress of the location a while back (somewhere in an old farm) but from there it was kinda radiosilence. Thanks anyways!

Green waterdragon hatched at the Oliemeulen. More eggs are still in the incubator so prob. the number will raise the coming days :).

Recently the Moholi bushbabies (Galago moholi) were put on display, they have been in the zoo since 2019 but were behind the scenes according to ZootierListe. They even had a young a few months ago! Dierenpark de Oliemeulen is 1 of the 9 zoos in Europe that keeps this species, making it the only one in the Benelux.
