Disappointing “misses” or “dips”

Managed to miss a Madagascar fish eagle during a boat trip, whilst the rest of the group's that day managed to see one :(

More recently, missing the Eastern quoll at Linton Zoo. I've seen the species at Bristol Zoo on many occasions in the past, but as Eastern quolls are my favourite species and I visited the zoo just to see them, they were a sore miss.
 
During my first several visits to Brookfield Zoo, I skipped 'Be a Bird'; the little silhouette to advertise it and images I had seen emphasized some simulated bird stuff, so I didn't believe it was an exhibit building. I found out years later it held kiwi and will long regret not getting to see them.
 
After years of waiting and a whole childhood of fantasising, I finally visited Chester Zoo in December 2021. It was great fun, but there was one slight issue. An avian flu outbreak led to the closure of Tropical Realm and all the other walkthroughs.

As a result of this, I missed out on Tentacled Snake, Balabac Chevrotain and Tuatara.
