Disney has one of the most progressive elephant programs in the united states. They created a nine acre habitat for their elephants back in 1998.The habitat is situated along the path of the Kilimanjaro safari tours.

Thanks for posting all of this information, and I agree that the 9-acre African elephant exhibit at DAK is amazing in size and scope. However, visitors can only see the elephants for perhaps 2 minutes before moving along on the safari ride, and 2 minutes is an appallingly short amount of time to view the natural behaviours of any animal.
 
I agree, the time given is so limited you don't have time to appreciate how natural the herd structure and the enclosure is.
I would make a viewing station near the elephants where people can be dropped off to view the elephants and they can be picked up by the next tour vehicle that drives up to continues the tour!
 
Luna was sired by Maclean, not Ali, as confirmed in the North American Regional Studbook for the African Elephant.
