Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Disney's Animal Kingdom® Lodge Full Species List

Is it true that Animal Kingdom Lodge regained Somali Wild Asses? Because, if not, their inclusion in the spotting guide is clearly incorrect.

[Edit] The same reasons apply for the Scimitar-Horned Oryx and Sitatunga.
It is possible that the PDF is an old guide, All Ears does not always update their docs.

It appears that pdf is the same guide that was at the lodge when I first stayed there in December 2018.

I got curious how different it was than the ones I had framed with a map of the resort after that first trip and it is indeed the exact same.

What happened to the steenbok? Any recent sightings?

I'm watchied episode 8 of season 1 of National Geographic's "Magic of Disney's Animal Kingdom."

It features Stark, a baby steenbok who had serious issues with his front legs that could have led to lifelong pain.

He underwent surgery to straighten them, but I haven't found an update about him.

Did they trade-away their steenbok, including Stark?

Or maybe Stark regressed and they quietly euthanized him?

The Steenbok are in one of the savannas that's only visible if you have a room overlooking it.
Technically there is an overlook area, but it is really small and affords a short view of that savanna. It is behind the pool bar in that part of the lodge. Odds that the steenbok are there when one happens to be looking are pretty slim.
Google map link to the spot: LINK

Date of visit: June 2 and 4 2022

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has 6 savannas, but only two are visible to the average public visitor (the others require you to book specific rooms to see). Signage is essentially nonexistent here, I have a full list for one of the two public savannas but for the other I can only list what I saw from the one public viewing area.

Public Savannas
1. (the one I have a full list for) Hatmann's Mountain Zebra, Roan Antelope, Common Eland, Addax, Gray Crowned Crane, Marabou Stork, Egyptian Goose, Impala, Generic Giraffe, Generic x Masai Giraffe hybrid, Common Wildebeest, Domestic Cattle
2. Impala, Hartmann's Mountain Zebra, Impala, Lesser Kudu, Pink-backed Pelican, Common Wildebeest, Generic Giraffe

off-exhibit (not a full list)
Okapi
Springbok
Steenbok
Red River Hog

Unsure of location, but I know they have them
Radiated Tortoise
Blue Crane
Common Ostrich

a few months ago I saw a photo of one of the savannahs and saw that there were gemsbok at the lodge.

While you will have to take my word for it, I can confirm that there is at least one Steenbok still alive in the Lodge’s Pembe Savanna.
I can do you one better, I can confirm that there are at least two of them left as of the 30th of December
