Doctor Who Discussion

It would be great if they released animated features of the lost stories of Doctor Who, using the original audio. Marco Polo and The Dalek's Master Plan come to mind.

There's several others too, even if they just had a commentary linking them:

The French Revolution is only missing two episodes.
The Tenth Planet is missing one episode.
The Ice Warriers are missing two episodes.

But probably the most likely would be The Moonbase - eps 2 and 4 still exist in theor entirety, but the audio for both 1 and 3 still exist too.

And I read on the net that the release of Shada will NOT be the recent upgrade, but the original.

I've just learnt today that this story will be released in Australia in about three weeks, under it's alternate title "The Reign of Terror".

There are plenty of restoration videos around, where they take screenshots and add the original program audio. I'm know that it's the same as full motion video, but it's better than nothing.

And speaking of lost stories. Someone has done a reboot of the lost story called Power of the Daleks. Here are all three parts of the endeavor.

Niue is a small island in the South Pacific belonging to New Zealand. Their stamps and coins are prized by philatelists and numismatists the world over.

To celebrate the Doctor's 50th Anniversary, the New Zealand Mint is producing for Niue a collectors edition Dr Who coin complete with a Tardis presentation box.

The Aztecs was re-released in Australia a couple of days ago as a two disc special edition. It includes the recently discovered episode three of the 4-part story "Galaxy 4", with the remaining episodes reconstructed.

Matt Smith has apparently said that he wants to leave the show....

Doctor Who? It's up to you! | The Sun |Showbiz|TV

I've lost count of the number of stories about Smith's departure since the actor first took the role. At the beginning of every season, there seems to be breaking news that it will be his last season. I would like to point out that The Sun is notorious for publishing rumors that have no factual basis. As always, it's from an anonymous source. And, as always, the publication gets everything wrong. Smith hasn't even started filming the upcoming movie, yet the article says that he's already completed it. If the publication or source can't even get simple facts right, then it's obvious that they know nothing. The fact that they're combining this story with an interactive poll shows that they're just doing this for publicity and attention. If you're still not convinced, consider this. Filming for a movie usually takes an average of two weeks. I think it's safe to say that taking two weeks out of the year during a time when no DW production is taking place does not mean that Smith is bailing out on the series. Once again, there are no concrete facts to back up its story. Now move on. There's nothing more to see here.

There's a new Doctor Who book coming out on May 31st about John Nathan-Turner. It's called "The Life and Scandalous Times of John Nathan-Turner" by Richard Marson and published by Miwk Publishing.

For those interested in DVD releases and 'lost' or incomplete stories, "The Ice Warriors" will be released later this year, with two animated episodes.

And apparently today is the 39th anniversary of the broadcast of the final episode of "The Planet of Spiders", where the third Doctor regenerates into the fourth - "A tear, Sarah Jane?"

Okay I finally gave in and watched the first episode of the current series of Doctor Who and, while the first episode has a silly plot IMO, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I look forward in watching more in the future!:)

which episode is that? (i.e. the current series playing in America? The actual current series? Which "first episode" [the series was split in two so has two potential "first episodes"]?)

It's the episode where the mannequins come to life and they all start shooting people because the living plastic monster-thing is controlling them
through the huge Ferris Wheel in London because he wants to exterminate the Human race. That one. Where The Doctor meets Rose.
