I have gotten a few notifications in the last few weeks from Zoochatters sending me a 'friend request'. I am honoured, but what does it all mean? If I accept someone's friend request, what happens?

The friend request is like being a friend on Facebook, only less so in that it doesn't change anything about the Zoochat experience or give you access to anything that you don't already have access to. The only thing I've gained from having friends is that it lets me find their contact details a lot quicker, although adding people as a contact does the same job.

the early days were the best, when patrick would rid us of the infuriating trolls. Now we just have to put up with them....

Anyway, it wasn't patrick after all with the shih tzu comment, it was Pygathrix and PAT. They all start with P so I don't feel too bad about getting it wrong
